Minds
Creative Minds is an upcoming, non-profit, program centered around lessening the stigma around mental health and helping people find the resources best for their needs. I was recruited to help define the company goals in their early stages and create a website to reflect their long term mission.

Goal
After talking with the founder of Creative Minds we decided to start the website with the focus of a blog/newsletter and list of resources to other mental health programs.
Research
We started our research with 5 indirect competitor and 6 direct competitor analyses. This helped give us a good idea of what is already on the market.

User Interviews
We conducted interviews to learn how people are currently handling their mental health and what they feel like is missing from their care.

Problem Statement
Human beings are social animals. It is natural to yearn for help and want others in your life. Then why do so many that seek help for mental wellness end up short? About a third of Texas counties do not have hospitals, and rural folk are already at risk of isolation. Let's close the gap by eliminating the distances in time and space. Let's make it acceptable to seek help - out loud. Let's bring hands together. Everyone deserves to place their trust in someone to shed light on their problems, be challenged by someone who cares for them, converse and exchange ideas with, to gain new perspectives, and for connection.
User Journey

Wire Framing and Design

First Draft

User Testing
In our round of user tests we had eight user's complete three tasks 1. Find information on the Trevor Project 2. Sign up for the mailing list 3. Find the newest blog topic.

Once organizing our notes we found that users reported an increase in overall SUS score and experience score, users found resources with ease, there were difficulties navigating to the blog making a poor overall experience reported, users enjoyed seeing resources that were familiar to them.
We then sorted our feedback into two sections, what we were doing right and what we needed to do better.

Final Design
Based off of the client feed back and user testing results we completed and published the final design.

What I Learned
This was my first time building a website with Wix. Transferring the designs and concepts from Figma to Wix was challenging and more limiting than anticipated. This caused me and my team extra hours of work in which we had to modify designs and entire web page flows. Moving forward I intend to thoroughly study programs and website builders before offering mockups so I can have a better understanding of what program the client chooses.
Unfortunately creativeminds.com is no longer in service due to theft, however, the clients passion and drive to help others still stays strong.
