Goal
Create an application to assist users in their everyday life that is multimodal and apart of the IOT. We aimed to help users remain accountable and gamify daily tasks.
Design Challenge
How might we find an effective way to manage time and focus in order to achieve consistent and measurable progress towards the users goals.
Research
We started our research with 17 user interviews to see who would benefit from using SAM, what people are currently using to remain accountable, and to find where we should put our focus when developing SAM.

Research
After competing our first round of interviews we decided we needed more information to see how important a social aspect would be in our app. To understand the impact adding this feature would have we conducted 18 more interviews to solidify our understanding of the relationship between accountability and socializing.

Ideation
With all of our new research we were able to find our priorities and structure our app. We created a paper prototype to test the usability and iterate.

Multimodal and IOT
We created Sam to be accessible through phone, watch, and smart fridge. Sam is also able to connect to your homes smart devices to set timers, lighting, as well as background noise for specific tasks.

Future Development
Our future development includes creating Pocket SAM to create delight and gamification for other users of varying age. We also hope to create a safe and fun environment for kids with parent coordination.
